El Zarape Denver is a hidden gem located at 1065 Federal Blvd that offers a treasure trove of authentic Mexican cuisine. Patrons rave about their smothered burritos and succulent asada, with one customer, Nick Wright, declaring it among the top five burritos in Denver. The ambiance is unpretentious, with a cozy, utilitarian vibe that encourages diners to come as they are. First-timers, like Chancey Chrisjohn, are often blown away by the generous portions and reasonable prices. The tamales, highlighted by Mr. Snapper, are particularly noteworthy; their flavor is a delightful balance, while seasoned with just the right touch of spice. Laura Martinez notes the consistency and variety of the menu, especially recommending the carnitas, which are a standout. For those craving a traditional dish, Eloise Alton Duncan beautifully describes the chile colorado as "out of this world" and insists on trying their seasonal posole. Overall, El Zarape Denver promises a genuine taste of Mexico in a warm setting, making it a must-visit for locals and newcomers alike. The combination of flavorful dishes and friendly service really encapsulates the essence of what a great Mexican restaurant should be.

Smothered burrito did not disappoint. The asada was delicious. Not a lot of room inside the restaurant, which is pretty utilitarian. Honestly, that just makes it feel like comfortable and unpretentious. Definitely top five Denver burrito for sure.

First timers. My wife and were looking for some food along Feds. Sunday before a Broncos game and decided to check it out. Blown away. Great food. Great service. Authentic food and giant portions. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Sneaky Ridiculous Good Tamales! As a Denver native, I’ll put these tamales up pound for pound against the best in town! Do not sleep on Zarape! Order a dozen tamales and you won’t be disappointed. Awesome taste with a mild spice. Yum!

Placed an order online super easily and we were able to pick it up through the drive through! Every time the food is beyond delicious, pick up or eat in it doesn’t matter, you’ll love it guaranteed.

Their breakfast burritos are delicious! I love that they are open on Sundays, unlike some other places. All of their hot sauces are delicious as well. And the service is always nice!
